ST. ALPHONSA PUBLIC SCHOOL & JUNIOR COLLEGE

Alphonsa English Medium School started in 1990 by the Franciscan Clarist Congregation Educational Society, Bharananganam, which is a charitable body, registered under Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act 12 of 1955. The Provincial Superior of Franciscan Clarist Congregation, Bharananganam Province is the president of the society and the Manager of the school. The school started functioning with 3 teachers and 20 pupils.
From such humble beginning the school has had a phenomenal growth. It picked up strength and gained heights of excellence soon. At present the school has 65 teachers and over 1600 students on roll. We aim to enlighten our children not merely by teaching the text, but by being their true friend, philosopher and guide. Students are nurtured with motherly affection by well qualified, experienced, selfless, devoted and dedicated teachers. We also aim at creating a just human society, where dignity of the human person is upheld, where unjust social structures are challenged, where the poor and the downtrodden are specially taken care of.
